“CNY Peace Trail” Bike Touring Region
Planning for the “CNY Peace Trail” Bike Touring
Region focused on locating a network of comfortable,
safe, and scenic bicycle travel corridors across 5
Counties of the CNY Region that is accessible from
the Empire State Trail. Studies show that economic
development opportunities can grow with bike and
pedestrian comfort and aesthetic conditions that
encourage visitation, community revitalization, and
quality of life. In support of cycling through the
region to access the many historic and scenic
resources, and Central New York’s community centers,
29 bicycle touring corridors have been
identified for implementation of safe streets
upgrades, outfitted with bike facilities.
